I'm sad to have to go so soon. I wish I had more time to explore the city. But, lucky me, I did have some time to take in a few sights.
After bundling up...
I took the bus to Loopy Yarns. Well, I took the bus a couple blocks past Loopy Yarns, but that's OK because the view was just fine.
Loopy Yarns was everything people said; friendly, inviting, filled with yummy yarns. I'll definitely swing in again if I'm in the area. And of course, I picked up some souvenirs while I was there.
Luckily, the good folks at Loopy Yarns were having a 40% off sale on a lot of their yarns, including the assortment of yarns I picked out Eeeeeexcellent.
I used the rest of the morning to slowly meander back to my hotel.
Here's hoping there's some need for me to return soon, perhaps when it's a bit warmer.

Is that the Hotel Intercontinental? It looks really familiar.

Ooh, I LOVE Chicago. I've only been there one time, when I accompanied Hubby on a business trip. It was in February then, too. It was blustery cold, and we did alot of walking.
We saw so much, but it seemed we just scratched the surface of all there was to see. We've both wished we could go back again and have at least a week of free time to roam and see all the sites, but with a company picking up the hotel tab again! ;-Þ

Shopping!! We always wanted to go shopping! Mum said it's not really convenient to take us along when she does her shopping. Chicago looks great! And with the snow on the streets, does it mean you get to lick them off as you go along just like a big city of ice cream?

Knowing what our weather's been like, I'm surprised your camera didn't freeze. I love taking pictures in the winter - have a bunch of snowy slides. I used to do it a lot - putting my camera inside my down coat in between shots. I haven't tried it with a digital camera - wonder if they are any more sensitive than my mostly manual Nikons.I've been wanting to get to Loopy Yarns - I've heard nothing but good things about them. Almost went the last time I went downtown for a retirement party where I used to work but it was cold & rainy/sluchy & it's a long walk (about 2½ miles I think) from the west loop area to Loopy.

I definitely recommend Chicago in the spring! I moved to Rockford, IL up that way in January one year. Between the constant wind, cold and snow it was the most miserable January I've ever had. But in the Springtime, the weather is lovely!

Okay, let's see how good I am at yarn spotting: I spy Euroflax Sport Weight (or Originals if its the old stuff), Lorna's Laces Helen's Lace (?), and something definitely Rowan, probably wool cotton but maybe DK Soft? Nice haul!
Your pictures make me ache for Chicago, despite its insanely cold temperatures. I think it will always be my favorite city, and I have walked past the places where you took those photos so many times...
