We have had that happen too with our cardigan welsh corgi pup last year. He chewed the feet of our ottoman in the living room. grrrr. Ah well, it's only furniture right? EEK!
*hang in there ... it's only a phase* ... we hope. ;)
*hugs*

I gasped loudly when I saw the pic of the noddy. I'm sure many other knitters did too.

When my dog Lucy was a puppy she chewed my Prescription Persel Sunglasses in about 1/2 of a second. I loved those sunglasses and it still hurts. The other thing she loved to chew were the tops of my straight knitting needles. She was so fast I never saw it happen-I would turn my head and they were chewed....

awww, just a little sandpaper and some natural stain, and you've got an heirloom with character...
also, a tip from my holistic healthcare book, "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats" by Pitcairn: we can support doggies' healthy need to chew not with those processed rawhide things that gum up their tummies, but with real bones, obtained from one's local vendor of humanely-raised meat. bones must be raw, and not from poultry (cooked bones, and all poultry bones, can splinter and that would be disastrous). raw bones best served outdoors for hourse of zen-like gnawing: gives them calcium and other minerals, marrow, and good exercise for developing teeth and gums... cheers Marnie ~ Flora

Delurking from South Africa - I had a Maltese terrier who jumped on the bed and got hold of my mother's false teeth on the bedside table. She must have thought they were bones. Needless to say we had to make an emergency appointment at the dentist for a new set of teeth. After that Granny never left her false teeth on the bedside table again!

Been there, with more than one dog. I lost a pair of Bolle prescription sunglasses to Bouncer. Jasper got into more yarn than anything else.

There's a reason the young of every species are so cute....it ensures their survival !! I just found a ball of alpaca silk in the litter box....the box was clean thank goodness .
Remember Thea is priceless for everything else there's .............
This post also qualifies for knitting content .

Hmmm. It's very strange, but I remember seeing exactly that kind of sweet, innocent look on another brown-eyed girl who'd often get into trouble. Mere coincidence?

Well, I can see Thea has been practicing her innocent, "What, who me??" look! Or, is it the "But look at how cute I am,you can't be mad at me" look? ;)

Uh-oh. the perils of puppy-dom. Hopefully not many more of those types of surprises. Sometimes you just gotta shake your head and walk away. Thea, you're still soooo cuuuuute.

Veddy veddy naughty.
And HA! What Debbie said. You can sand it out smooth but it will never be the same. But it also means every time you skein yarn you'll be reminded of da cuteness.

My doxie got to my Nostepinne and ran around the house unwinding the ball that was in progress on it while dragging the nostepinne with him. My poor husband had to find the mess and clean it up since I was away for 3 weeks.

Oh dear. Well, she needed a toothpick, and none were available...
What a doll. Murray once shredded a skein of sock yarn and made a nest of bedding with it. Sigh. Kids...what can you do? ;)

i had something similar happen with my cat jimi. he's well past the "chewing" stage at 7, but every once in a while, he gets a yen to chew. fortunately, mine didn't end up with nearly as much damage. maybe a little sand paper?
