It's only about 4 feet wide, so it's a mini-shawl, but it's my first and it's made from my handspun so I'm as happy as can be.
Leo said "It looks like it could fall apart, like it could break." I informed him that the term is "delicate" and that, for lace, that's a good thing.
It should be dry tonight and I'll be able to get some better pictures, but for now, this will have to do.
And boy, Panda has been in belly rub heaven. She loves the love, so thanks to all of you who sent her some. For those who asked, yes, she is getting cuter and yes, I'm a complete sucker for her big brown eyes and yes, she knows she's working it.

Hi, I'm one of the'silent readers' but I'm so impressed with this that I've got to pop up and say "Its gorgeous!" I find it amazing that you actually handspun enough yarn to make a shawl, using a hand-spindle. In fact, I decided to try handspinning after reading this. Thanks for the inspiration. =)

It's beautiful!!! Is this the one you designed yourself for the contest? Quite impressive. I am guessing the colors just don't do it justice in the photos - how would you describe the finished product or are the photos pretty true to life? Plans for more lace in the future?

You must just love it. I can't even imagine what it would be like to knit something using yarn you'd made yourself. You are such a talented designer too.

Beautiful! and hand spun to boot. After spinning fiber for 5 years, I've just started to knit with my hand spun. (Long story). You've inspired me to find my lace-weight and knit a small shawl for someone, maybe even myself.
Yes, lace is 'delicate', sort of like steel wire. The only time I've had a lace shawl have stitches torn is when my cat used it as a bed and must have really kneaded it. Fortunately, I had left over yarn and was able to fix it.

Oh Marnie! It came out beautifully. I can't wait to see it modeled.
How wonderful is it knit a shawl from start to finish. I have spun, and I have knit, but I haven't knit anything I have spun yet.
You have inspired me!
