Lusca is worked from the border up and shaped with short rows to give it a crescent shape. There are five shades in the sample, going from darkest to lightest, and identified by letter with A being the darkest shade and E being the lightest. The sample used up every last bit of the darkest shade, so do not use this shade for swatching and keep your yarn tails relatively short.

  • 1 kit Tahki Yarns Cotton Classic Colorworks (540 yd / 494 m per 8 ¾ oz / 250 g in 5 skeins; 100% Mercerized Cotton) in Purple Majesty
  • Size 6 US / 4 mm circular needle, 60" / 150 cm long or longer
    2 stitch markers, cable needle, cotton thread for lifeline (optional), tapestry needle, blocking supplies

Gauge

  • 20 ½ sts and 26 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch, before blocking

    Correct gauge is not critical for this project, but your final measurements and yardage requirements may vary if your gauge is different.
