We're making progress!
GOOD NEWS!
Sweaters and other baby items are arriving. Thanks especially to Patti and Debbie who's sweaters arrived and in excellent condition. They are adorable. I also went to Los Gatos on Thursday and picked up a box of blankets and sweaters.
We're expecting another dozen or so sweaters to arrive on pledges. It looks like we've been able to put together a really nice grouping of baby blankets, sweaters, booties, caps, and even a full crib size quilt from a non knitter that saw this group of messages.
My husband is amazed at how we seem to come together on the internet and extend our help in everyway that we can to provide for those that are less fortunate. I just can't thank everyone involved enough. I hope that you are all reaching around and firmly giving yourselves a good ol' pat on the back for standing up to be counted and helping this cause. You are really a fine bunch of people.
I'll put up the final figures of items that are going to San Diego to the Moms at Camp Pendleton.
I'm also going to do my best to take some pics and post them to this site, and perhaps I'll be able to get off my lazy bunz and develop some sort of web site to keep everyone in the loop on where we go from here. Some email has indicated that this would be a good project to do on a quartly basis. Let us hear from you on this blog if you favor such a project. I'd like to have some sort of committment and show of hands before we dive into this project further.
Don't be silent - let us all have a say in how to proceed.
Thanks again.
Dianne
