Decorated with quatrefoil cables, this hat and mitten set is sure to keep you cozy when the weather is cold. Mittens are available in two sizes with instructions to make them longer or shorter. Hat is available in one size that will easily stretch to fit most adult heads.

Stitch pattern is offered as charts, only.

Sizes

Mittens

  • Circumference (above thumb): 7 ½ (8 ½)" / 19 (21.5) cm
    Length from cuff: 7 ¾" / 19.5 cm
    Sample Size: 7 ½" / 19 cm shown worn with no ease.

Hat

  • Circumference: 19" / 48 cm
    Height: 9.5" / 24 cm
    Sample worn with no 2" / 5 cm of negative ease.

Supplies

  • 2 skeins of Shalimar Yarns, Enzo Worsted (70% merino, 20% cashmere, 10% nylon) – 225 yd / 215 m in Water's Edge.
  • One skein will make either a hat or a pair of mittens.
  • US 5 / 3.75 mm needles for small circumference knitting in the round*
  • Stitch markers
  • Cable needle
  • Waste yarn
  • Tapestry needle
    * Or size to obtain gauge

Gauge

20 sts x 30 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch. Wash and lay flat to dry before checking gauge.

1 repeat of Hat Chart is 4 ¾" / 12 cm wide. Wash and lay flat to dry before checking gauge.

Note: Stockinette gauge should be used for mittens. Chart gauge should be used for hat.
