About
Isn't it interesting how we always want to know who the person is behind the website? I never really know what to say. More will come, but here are the things that seem to be of most interest to most people.
I grew up in NH and went to college in Boston, so I consider myself a East Coaster. This may seem odd, since I've been living on the west coast since late 2001. I lived in LA for five years and now I'm in beautiful Portland Oregon.
As for me and this whole site that you are looking at, I'm the least technical person in my family which isn't very descriptive, since my immediate family is made up of very accomplished and successful computer folks. I will say that everything on this site is my own work. I do try to adhere to some standards of usability though I don't lose my mind over it. I, absolutely, appreciate input, so if you feel something is poorly done, let me know and I'll fix it if I have the skill to do so.
Almost all of my patterns are free and that is by choice. Not only does it free me up from feeling obligated to agonize over every detail of every pattern, but it also makes patterns more accessible to more people. I think offering unusual patterns for free is a great way to grow the knitting community. That being said, I've begun to offer a few select "for sale" patterns to offset some of the cost of maintaining this site.
I think that about covers it. I hope if you have any comments or thoughts you'll email me and let me know.
